David Eric Grohl is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and documentary producer. He was the drummer for the rock band Nirvana and formed the group Foo Fighters, in which he is a singer, guitarist and lead musician. Grohl is also the drummer and co-founder of the rock supergroup Them Crooked Vultures, and has written music for his short side projects Late! and Probot. He also recorded and toured with Queens of the Stone Age. At 17, Grohl joined the punk rock band Scream following the departure of drummer Kent Stax. He joined Nirvana shortly after Scream's disbandment. Nirvana's second album and Grohl's debut album Nevermind became a worldwide commercial success. After the death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain in 1994, Grohl founded the Foo Fighters, a solo project that would later become a band. In 1995, her debut album of the same name was released by Roswell and Capitol Records. Foo Fighters released nine more albums.
